The website of the Holy See, available in several languages, has an excellent resource library and all documents relating to Pope Benedict XVI.

Vatican YouTube
The Holy See launched this channel to provide coverage of Pope Francis and other activities at the Vatican.

Diocese of Richmond
Sacred Heart parish belongs to the Diocese of Richmond. The diocesan website offers information about our bishop, the Most Reverend Francis DiLorenzo, and the many diocesan offices that serve parishes.

Catholic Virginian
This is the newspaper of the Diocese of Richmond, which features articles of international, national, and local interest to Catholics.

Virginia Catholic Conference
This organization is the collaboration of the two dioceses in Virginia (Arlington and Richmond). It lobbies the state and federal legislatures on important public-policy matters. The website features official statements by the bishops of Virginia.

Catholic News Service
This organization provides some of the best official news about the Catholic Church in the United States, as well as the Vatican.

EWTN Global Catholic Network
Based on the EWTN cable channel, this website features a vast library of Catholic resources: prayers, Church documents, and video coverage of the Vatican.

Diocesan Safe Environment Regulations


Readings for Mass
The website of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops provides the readings for weekday and Sunday Mass. It also features the New American Bible (the translation of the Bible used at Mass), movie reviews, and official statements by the bishops of the United States.

Roman Missal
The prayers and responses used at Mass have changed. This website, established by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, provides a thorough explanation.

Mass Times
This website provides a schedule of Masses for parishes throughout the United States.

Ministry Scheduler Pro
This website contains the parish’s scheduling software for all liturgical ministers (sacristans, altar servers, lectors, extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion, and sound-system operators). A log-in and password are required.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops launched this excellent website to help couples prepare for marriage, and to support those who are already married. There are valuable resources on everything from how to plan a Catholic wedding to what conversations every couple should have.

Pronounced re-trow-vie (a French word that means “rediscovery”), this organization, supported by the Catholic Church, provides help for troubled marriages.

Couple to Couple League
This Catholic international organization provides information about natural family planning (NFP)—the method of birth regulation approved by the Church—for engaged and married couples.

Rachel’s Vineyard
Inspired by Rachel, the wife of Jacob in the Old Testament, who wept at the death of her children (cf. Jeremiah 31:15), this Catholic organization provides healing for women and men who suffer from the pain of abortion.
